Solved: Two blocks made of different materials, connected

Chapter 4, Problem 94GP

(choose chapter or problem)

Two blocks made of different materials, connected by a thin cord, slide down a plane ramp inclined at an angle \(\theta\) to the horizontal, Fig.  block  is above block . The masses of the blocks are \(m_{A}\) and \(m_{B}\), and the coefficients of friction are \(\mu_{A}\) and \(\mu_{B}\). If \(m_{A}=5.0 \mathrm{\ kg}\), and \(\mu_{A}=0.20\) and \(\mu_{B}=0.30\), determine (a) the acceleration of the blocks and (b) the tension in the cord, for an angle \(\theta=32^{\circ\).
