(choose chapter or problem)

Refer to the statistical model for the one-way layout.
a Show that \(H_{0}: \tau_{1}=\tau_{2}=\ldots=\tau_{k}=0\) is equivalent to \(H_{0}: \mu_{1}=\mu_{2}=\ldots=\mu_{k}\).
b  Show that \(H_{a}: \tau_{1} \neq 0\) for at least one  is equivalent to \(H_{a}: \mu_{i} \neq \mu_{i}\) for some \(i \neq i^{\prime}\).

Text transcription:

H_{0}: tau{1}=\tau{2}=ldots=tau{k}=0

H_{0}: mu{1}=\mu{2}=ldots=mu{k}

H_{a}: tau{1} \neq 0

H_{0}: mu{i} neq mu{i}{ }^{\prime}

H_{a}: mu{i} neq mu{i}
