A person can determine the moment of inertia of the irregular body relative to the vertical axis through the centre of mass of the irregular body.

Consider the body of person as an irregular shape. If person stand on a rotating turntable rotating at constant angular speed about a vertical axis, the component of angular moment of person’s body along the axis of rotation is proportional to the moment of inertia.
