Solution 5DQ Step 1: The truck is accelerating downwards. One thing which is extremely important here, is the acceleration. Velocity is relative but acceleration is not. When something is accelerating, it is experiencing a force which can be felt and it is independent of the frame of reference chosen. The velocity of the truck with respect to the point and the police car is different. So, the momentum is also not same for the two reference frames. The momentum is continuously changing as the truck is accelerating.
