Determine the magnitude and orientation, measured counterclockwise from the positive y axis, of the resultant force acting on the bracket, if \(F_B = 600\ N\) and \(\theta = 20^{\circ}\).

ANSWER:

Transform each force and resultant force to a cartesian vector which is their horizontal and vertical components with variable i for horizontal and  for vertical. Note that positive values are those forces going to the right and upward while negative values are those forces going to the left and downward.
