Chapter 10, Problem 10.57

(choose chapter or problem)

(II) Two uniform solid spheres of mass M and radius r0 areconnected by a thin (massless) rod of length r0 so that thecenters are 3r0 apart, (a) Determine the moment of inertiaof this system about an axis perpendicular to the rod at itscenter, (b) What would be the percentage error if themasses of each sphere were assumed to be concentrated attheir centers and a very simple calculation made?
