A bicycle wheel of diameter 65 cm and mass m rotateson its axle; two 20-cm-long wooden handles, one on each side ofthe wheel, act as the axle. You tie a rope to a small hook on theend of one of the handles, and then spin the bicycle wheel witha flick of the hand. When you release the spinning wheel, itprecesses about the vertical axis defined by the rope, instead offalling to the ground (as it would if it were not spinning).
