Low pressure Th e Automobile Association of America (AAA) reports that 85% of all cars on the road are driving on underinfl ated tires. Two researchers, Geraldine and Patti, collect data on tire pressure from a random sample of cars that were brought in for oil changes. (a) Geraldine wants to perform a signifi cance test of AAAs claim. Patti would rather calculate a confi dence interval. Which would you recommend? Why? (b) Will Geraldine and Patti be able to generalize their results to the population of all cars on the road? Why or why not?
