Seagulls by the seashore Do seagulls show a preference for where they stand? To answer this question, biologists examined a small piece of shore whose area was made up of 56% sand, 29% mud, and 15% rocks. Th ey recorded where each of 200 seagulls was standing on a particular aft ernoon. In all, 128 seagulls stood on the sand, 61 stood in the mud, and 11 stood on the rocks. Carry out a chi-square goodness of fi t test. What do you conclude?
