Neutral hydrogen can be modeled as a positive point

Chapter 22, Problem 22.59

(choose chapter or problem)

Neutral hydrogen can be modeled as a positive point charge+1.6 X 10-19C surrounded by a distribution of negativecharge with volume density given by p^(r) = A e~ 2r^awhere a0 = 0.53 X 10-10 m is called the Bohr radius, A is aconstant such that the total amount of negative charge is1.6 X 10-19 C, and e = 2.718 is the base of the naturallog. (a) What is the net charge inside a sphere of radius aQ ?(b) What is the strength of the electric field at a distance a0from the nucleus? [Hint: Do not confuse the exponentialnumber e with the elementary charge e which uses the samesymbol but has a completely different meaning and value(e = 1.6 X 1019C).]
