Chapter 9, Problem 9.6D

(choose chapter or problem)

Hundreds of U.S. universities and colleges currently have combined heat and power (CHP) systems that provide electricity, heating, and cooling to campus buildings. The direct benefits to these institutions include significant annual energy cost savings and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. For a university or college in your locale currently not employing CHP, use tools provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Combined Heat and Power Partnership, together with input from campus energy plant staff, to assess if the university or college is a good candidate for CHP. Document your recommendation in a report including notes from interviews with energy plant staff and at least three references.
