An ammonia solution at a high pressure is flash-vaporized

Chapter 8, Problem 8.99

(choose chapter or problem)

An ammonia solution at a high pressure is flash-vaporized at a rate of 200 Ibmlh. The solution contains 0.70 Ibm NH3/lbm , and its enthalpy relative to H20(l, 32F) and NH3(1, -40F) is -50 Btwlbm. Liquid and gas streams emerge from the unit at 1 atm and 80F. Use Figure 8.5-2 to determine the mass flow rates and ammonia mass fractions of the vapor and the liquid product streams and the rate (Btu/h) at which heat must be transferred to the vaporizer. (See Example 8.5-4.)
