He does bring up very interesting points about how people perceive trees and wood usage as a “green” means to construction, when truly the engineered wood such as glulam has adhesives in it which do not constitute as green materials. With this being the fact of the matter I can definitely understand why Melnick may be so against the Governments funding for research and production of wood, when we have concrete and steel as very durable, strong, and reliable construction materials in the industry.
