Predict/Explain (a) When the switch is closed in the circuit shown in Figure 2146, does the current supplied by the battery increase, decrease, or stay the same? (b)Choose the best explanation from among the following: I. The current increases because three resistors are drawing current from the battery when the switch is closed, rather than just two. II. Closing the switch makes no difference to the current because the voltage is the same as before. III. Closing the switch decreases the current because an additional resistor is added to the circuit.
