When the lightbulbs in your home are turned on, they are always connected across the same potential difference. Which do you believe has a lament with the highest resistance when cool, a 60-W bulb or a 100-W bulb? To check your prediction, ask your instructor to lend you a device called an ohmmeter and to instruct you in its use. A resistor must always be disconnected from a circuit when its resistance is measured with an ohmmeter.
