An articial lens is implanted in a persons eye to replace

Chapter 25, Problem 25.15

(choose chapter or problem)

An articial lens is implanted in a persons eye to replace a diseased lens. The distance between the articial lens and the retina is 2.80 cm. In the absence of the lens, an image of a distant object (formed by refraction at the cornea) falls 2.53 cm behind the retina. The lens is designed to put the image of the distant object on the retina. What is the power of the implanted lens? [Hint: Consider the image formed by the cornea to be a virtual object.]
