The Gibbs energy is given by

a plot between  and , is simply a line graph where the slope of the graph is the negative entropy ,the entropy is the lowest for the solid, and since the slope is negative, the line for the solid will have the highest value in the vertical axis, as shown in the figure. Then the substance melts into a liquid, the entropy of the liquid  is larger than the entropy of the solid, and finally it evaporates to a gas with an entropy  larger than the entropy of the liquid, therefore the graph looks like this
