A company manufactures and packages soap powder in 6-pound boxes. The quality assurance department was interested in comparing the fill weights of packages from the east and west lines. Taking random samples from the two lines, the department obtained the following weights:

(a) Let \(m_{X}\) and \(m_{Y}\) denote the median weights for the east and west lines, respectively. Test \(H_{0}: m_{X}=m_{Y}\) against a two-sided alternative hypothesis, using theWilcoxon test with \(\alpha \approx 0.05\). Find the \(p\)-value of this two-sided test.

(b) Construct and interpret a \(q–q\) plot of these data.
