According to the second law of thermodynamics, it is impossible in any system for heat to completely convert to work.
In other words, the heat taken can’t be completely converted to the work output, since no system is 100% efficient.
From the total heat taken in from a resource, a certain part of heat, which depends upon the efficiency, will be converted to the work output of the system and the remaining will be given off to a heat sink.
