Are the points (4, 6), (1, 0), and (11, 12) collinear? Determinants are used to write an equation of a line passing through two points. An equation of the line passing through the distinct points (x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) is given by x y 1 x1 y1 1 x2 y2 1 0.
