QUESTION:

Problem 15SEQ

Explain answer clearly, with complete sentences and proper essay structure if needed.

Covered with Sunspots. Describe what the Sun would look like from Earth if the entire photosphere were the same temperature as a sunspot.

ANSWER:

Step 1 of 2:

The dark spots appear on the photographs of the Sun’s photosphere are called sunspots. They are produced due to the difference in the temperature. The sunspots are cooler than that of the other regions in the photosphere. Since they are cooler, they are less bright and appear as the dark spot. The temperature of the sunspot is around 4000K compared to that of the surrounding region which is at 5800-6000K. We are going to describe how the sun would appear like from the Earth.
