Dark matter is generally invisible to the electromagnetic spectrum as it does not interact or emit electromagnetic radiation.

So far we have no direct evidence of the presence of dark matter but it’s existence can be observed by the gravitational effects in the large scale universe, galactic rotation and many other.

According to the standard model of cosmology, the total amount of matter present in the universe is just about 5% of the whole universe and the rest are dark matter and dark energy.
