(a) Use a graphing utility to find an equation of the parabola that models the data. Write the equation in standard form. Let represent the year, with corresponding to 2002. (b) Find the coordinates of the vertex and interpret its meaning in the context of the problem. (c) Use a graphing utility to graph the function. (d) Use the trace feature of the graphing utility to approximate graphically the year in which sales were maximum. (e) Use the table feature of the graphing utility to approximate numerically the year in which sales were maximum. (f ) Compare the results of parts (b), (d), and (e). What did you learn by using all three approaches?
