Conjecture About Multiplicative Inverses Are there certain

Chapter 10, Problem 820

(choose chapter or problem)

Conjecture About Multiplicative Inverses Are there certain modulo systems where all numbers have multiplicative inverses?

a) If you have not worked Group Projects Exercise 2, construct multiplication tables for modulo systems 3–9.

b) Which of the multiplication tables in part (a) contain multiplicative inverses for all nonzero numbers?

c) Which, if any, of the multiplication tables in part (a) do not contain multiplicative inverses for all nonzero numbers?

d) Using the results in parts (b) and (c), can you write a conjecture as to which modulo systems contain multiplicative inverses for all nonzero numbers?
