Suppose you want to collect student opinions on a new housing structure the college administration is proposing and you want to make sure your survey equally represents opinions from students from all years.

(a) What type of study is this?

(b) Suggest a sampling strategy for carrying out this study

ANSWER:

Step 1 of 2

1. Since we want to collect student opinions on new housing structures and make sure that the survey equally represents the opinions of all students.

Major thing to note here is that we need to collect opinions and not the reason behind those opinions. Therefore the researchers is not concerned about how the data rise.

Thus, the study is of observational type.
