Chapter 2, Problem 2.2C(choose chapter or problem)
A system filled with a liquid is shown below. On the left there is a piston in a tube of cross-sectional area \(\mathrm{A_1}\) with a force \(\mathrm{F_1}\) applied to it, and on the right there is a piston in a tube of cross-sectional area \(\mathrm{A_2}\) that is twice that of \(\mathrm{A_1}\) and a force \(\mathrm{F_2}\). The pistons are weightless. The two liquid levels are the same.
The relation between the force \(\mathrm{F_2}\) and \(\mathrm{F_1}\) is
a) \(\mathrm{F_2=F_1}\)
b) \(\mathrm{F_2=4~ F_1}\)
c) \(\mathrm{F_2=2~ F_1}\)
d) \(\mathrm{F_2=F_1/2}\)
e) \(\mathrm{F_2=F_1/4}\)
