Problem 9E

PROBLEM 9E

Balance the chemical equations in Exercises 6–11 using the vector equation approach discussed in this section.

[M] If possible, use exact arithmetic or a rational format for calculations in balancing the following chemical reaction:

Step-by-Step Solution:

    Step 1 :

In this problem we need to balance the chemical equation using the vector equation   approach.

We given  the following reaction

                   PbN6 + CrMn2O8 Pb3O4 + Cr2O3 + MnO2 +NO

  Step 2:

                 The unbalanced equation is

                     PbN6 + CrMn2O8 Pb3O4 + Cr2O3 + MnO2 +NO

To balance the equation, we need to find positive integers, x5   and x6.

                x1 PbN6 +x2 CrMn2O8 x3Pb3O4 +x4 Cr2O3 +x5 MnO2 +x6NO
