Chapter , Problem 3

(choose chapter or problem)

(Small-amplitude periodic solutions for the forced mass-spring system with a rubber band) Using the same value of k1 as in Part 2, fix b = 0.01 and = 4. Also fix a value of k2 where 4.5 k2 5, and calculate a periodic solution with small amplitude for the equation d2 y dt2 + b dy dt + k1 y + k2h(y) = 10 + 0.1 sint. Use analytic methods to calculate the solution and numerical methods to verify your result. Provide its y(t)-graph and its solution curve in the phase plane. Be sure to specify its initial condition.
