Two capacitors each have two conducting plates of surface area and an air gap of width They are connected in parallel, as shown in Figure 24-43, and each has a charge on the positively charged plate. A slab that has a width an area and a dielectric constant is inserted between the plates of one of the capacitors. Calculate the new charge on the positively charged plate of that capacitor after electrostatic equilibrium is reestablished.
