A long, narrow bar magnet has its magnetic moment parallel
Chapter , Problem 90(choose chapter or problem)
A long, narrow bar magnet has its magnetic moment parallel to its long axis and is suspended at its centerin essence becoming a frictionless compass needle. When the magnet is placed in a magnetic field it lines up with the field. If it is displaced by a small angle and released, show that the magnet will oscillate about its equilibrium position with frequency given by where is the moment of inertia about the point of suspension.
