Chapter , Problem 97

(choose chapter or problem)

A nonconducting disk has radius carries a uniform surface charge density and rotates with angular speed (a) Consider an annular strip that has a radius a width and a charge Show that the current produced by this rotating strip is given by (b) Use your result from Part (a) to show that the magnetic field strength at the center of the disk is given by the exxppression (c) Use your result from Part (a) to find an expression for the magnetic field strength at a point on the central axis of the disk a distance from its center.
