Energy Analysis of Control Volumes at Steady StateMethane

Chapter 4, Problem 36P

(choose chapter or problem)

Methane \(\left(\mathrm{CH}_4\right)\) gas enters a horizontal, well-insulated nozzle operating at steady state at \(80^{\circ} \mathrm{C}\) and a velocity of \(10 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}\). Assuming ideal gas behavior for the methane, plot the temperature of the gas exiting the nozzle, in \({ }^{\circ} \mathrm{C}\), versus the exit velocity ranging from 500 to \(600 \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}\).
