Consider an air-standard Diesel cycle. At the beginning of compression, \(p_1=14.0 \mathrm{lbf} / \mathrm{in}{ }^2\) and \(T_1=520^{\circ} \mathrm{R}\). The mass of air is \(0.145 \mathrm{lb}\) and the compression ratio is 17 . The maximum temperature in the cycle is \(4000^{\circ} \mathrm{R}\). Determine

(a) the heat addition, in Btu.

(b) the thermal efficiency.

(c) the cutoff ratio.
