Solved: Consider beam 13 in Table A9, but with flexible

Chapter 4, Problem 4-100

(choose chapter or problem)

Consider beam 13 in Table A-9, but with flexible supports. Let \(w=500 \mathrm{lbf} / \mathrm{ft}, l=2 \mathrm{ft}, E=\) \(30 \mathrm{Mpsi}\), and \(I=0.85 \mathrm{in}^4\). The support at the left end has a translational spring constant of \(k_1=1.5\left(10^6\right) \mathrm{lbf} /\) in and a rotational spring constant of \(k_2=2.5\left(10^6\right) \mathrm{lbf} \cdot\) in. The right support has a translational spring constant of \(k_3=2.0\left(10^6\right) \mathrm{lbf} / \mathrm{in}\). Using procedure 2 of Sec. 4-10, determine the reactions at the supports and the deflection at the midpoint of the beam.
