QUESTION:

Problem 28E

Suppose P(A) = .4, P(B) = .7, and P(A  B) = .3. Find the following probabilities:

a. P(Bc)

b. P(Ac)

c. P(A B)

ANSWER:

Solution

Given that P(A)=0.4

                  P(B)=0.7

            P(AB)=0.3

Step 1 of 3

a) We have to find P(Bc)

 P(Bc)=1-P(B)

             =1-0.7

             =0.3

Hence P(Bc)=0.3
