Consider the two-mass model shown in Figure P13.46. Use the following numerical values: \(m_1 = m_2 = 1, c_2 = 0, k_1 = 1\), and \(k_2 = 4\).

a. Use MATLAB to obtain the root locus plot in terms of the parameter \(c_1\).

b. Use the root locus plot to determine the value of \(c_1\) required to give a dominant root pair having a damping ratio of \(\zeta = 0.707\).

c. Use the root locus plot to determine the value of \(c_1\) required to give a dominant root that is real and has a time constant equal to 4.

d. Using the value of \(c_1\) found in part (c), obtain a plot of the unit-step response.
