Torque. Torque is the tendency for an arm to rotate about a pivot point. If a force is applied at an angle to turn an arm of length L, as pictured below, then the magnitude of the torque .Assume that a force of 45 N is applied to a bar 0.2 meters wide on a sewer shut-off valve at an angle 85. What is the magnitude of the torque?
