Chapter , Problem 11.6

(choose chapter or problem)

A commercial thermocouple that has an effective spherical junction diameter of 2 mm is intended to be used for some transient measurements. You may assume that the thermocouple material has properties similar to those of copper. Estimate the time constants of this thermocouple for gaseous and liquid environments that have convective heat-transfer coefficients of 100 W/m2-oC and 3,000 W/m2_oC, respectively.
