We are going to find the time of contact of a block with the spring if the initial speed of the block is increased.

The time of contact of the mass with the spring is the one fourth the time period T. (Example 13-6)

Since the time of contact of the mass with the spring is independent of the initial speed of the block, therefore it stays the same. (Increasing the initial speed will increase the amplitude but the amplitude is independent of the time period and contact time.)
