The reel shown in Figure P10.79 has radius R and moment of inertia I. One end of the block of mass m is connected to a spring of force constant k, and the other end is fastened to a cord wrapped around the reel. The reel axle and the incline are frictionless. The reel is wound counterclockwise so that the spring stretches a distance d from its unstretched position and the reel is then released from rest. Find the angular speed of the reel when the spring is again unstretched.
Astronomy Lesson 6 05/09/2017 ▯ Impacts of climate change ▯ ▯ Weather and climate are different Weather is short-term; climate is long-term Weather is driven by wind, wind is driven by convection, convection is driven by climate ▯ ▯ The ten hottest years ever in humanity have happened in my lifetime ▯ ▯ Building hurricanes = wind + moist air (warmer oceans = moist air) ▯ ▯ Tornadoes are also driven by convection – more and bigger tornadoes ▯ ▯ Number of major flood events by decade is also going up – global phenomenon ▯ ▯ More normal storms
