In both cases, the block moves on a frictionless table after it is displaced from equilibrium and released. Show that in the two cases the block exhibits simple harmonic motion with periods (a) T 5 2p m1k1 1 k 2 2 k1k 2 and (b) T 5 2p m k 1 1 k 2
