Viewing Angle of an Observer A 10-ft-wide chalkboard is situated 5 ft from the left wall of a classroom. See the figure. A student sitting next to the wall x feet from the front of the classroom has a viewing angle of u radians. (a) Show that the value of u is given by the function 1x2 = arctan a 15 x b - arctan a 5 x b. (b) Graph 1x2 with a graphing calculator to estimate the value of x that maximizes the viewing angle. 6
