Problem 114IP

Suppose the incident beam of light is linearly polarized in the same direction θ as the transmission axis of the analyzer. The transmission axis of the polarizer remains vertical. (a) What value must θ have if the transmitted intensity is to be 0.200 I0? (b) If θ is increased from the value found in part (a), docs the transmitted intensity increase, decrease, or stay the same? Explain.
