Suppose that a store carries two different brands, A and B, of a certain type of breakfast cereal. Suppose that during a one-week period the store noted whether each package of this type of cereal that was purchased was brand A or brand B and also noted whether the purchaser was a man or a woman. (A purchase made by a child or by a man and a woman together was not counted.) Suppose that 44 packages were purchased, and that the results were as shown in Table 10.19.
