A skipper on a boat notices wave crests passing his anchorchain every 5 s. He estimates the distance between wavecrests to be 15 m. He also correctly estimates the speed ofthe waves. Show that his estimation of wave speed is3 m/s by (a) the classic formula for speed, distance dividedby time, and (b) frequency * wavelength.
