Recall 8.1.17 where a collection of n =10 samples of chilled cast iron provided corrosion rates with a sample mean of x =2.752 and a sample standard deviation of s =0.280. Is there sufcient evidence to conclude that the average corrosion rate of chilled cast iron of this type is larger than 2.5?
