Assume that the lifetimes X1, X2 of the components are independent random variables, X1 having an exponential distribution with mean 100 hours, and X2 having an exponential distribution with mean 150 hours. a. Draw a design of such a system and find the probability density function of X, the lifetime of the system. b. Calculate E(X) and P(60 X 80).
