Chapter 21, Problem 21-68

(choose chapter or problem)

The conical top has a mass of 0.8 kg, and the moments of inertia are \(I_{x}=I_{y}=3.5\left(10^{-3}\right) \ \mathrm{kg} \cdot \mathrm{m}^{2}\) and \(I_{z}=0.8\left(10^{-3}\right) \ \mathrm{kg} \cdot \mathrm{m}^{2}\). If it spins freely in the ball-and socket joint at A with an angular velocity \(\omega_{s}=750 \ \mathrm{rad} / \mathrm{s}\), compute the precession of the top about the axis of the shaft AB.
