Problem 86HP

Take Problem 3.210 and write the left-hand side (storage change) of the conservation equations for mass and energy. How should you write m1 and Eq. 3.5?

Equation 3.5

Problem 3.210

A rigid tank is divided into two rooms, both containing water, by a membrane, as shown in Fig. P3.210 Room A is at 200 kPa, v = 0.5 m3/kg, VA = 1 m3, and room B contains 3.5 kg at 0.5 MPa, 400°C. The membrane now ruptures and heat transfer takes place so that the water comes to a uniform state at 100°C. Find the heat transfer during the process.
