Problem 14QP

An ionic bond is formed between a cation A+ and an anion B−. Based on Coulomb’s law

how would the energy of the ionic bond be affected by the following changes: (a) tripling the radius of A+, (b) doubling the charge on A+, (c) tripling the charges on A+ and B−, (d) doubling the radii of A+ and B−?
